Gandhamathana Parvatham
To the north of the main temple, i.e. Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple lies a hillock known by the name Gandhamathana Parvatham. This is also the highest point at Rameshwaram. The hillock harbors a small temple known as Ramarpatham Temple. The place is famous because of the excellent view of the island surrounded all over by the clear blue water. People often spend hours here admiring the beauty of nature and chanting prayers. The winds untangling the hairs and the ringing of the temple bells make the place more heavenly. To the way to this place, lies a few more temples, having religious importance. The temples are built marking the abduction of Goddess Sita by Ravana. Different spots in this place, says different stories about God.
