Upper Lake, Bhopal
While talking about the individual lake, in the City of Lakes, the prime lake to talk about is the Upper Lake. Named after Raha Bhoj, this lake is popularly known as Bhopal. Don’t get confused if someone calls it Bada Talab, its because of its huge capacity of water storage, that has been serving the mankind since ages. Built upon the river Kolans by Raja Bhoj, in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest lake made by a human. The lake holds a statue of Raja Bhoj on its side. There is also a lower lake beside the upper lake, which is connected by it via an overbridge known by the name Pul Pukhta. Things to do here- enjoy the beautiful view of sunset beside the lakeside, go for some water sports like parasailing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting etc, visit the nearby Kamala park for some fun activities, visit the nearby aquarium to find some finned friends, walk along the lakeside with the loved ones.
