The Garden of Five Senses

The Garden of Five Senses is not just a park, it is a space with a variety of programmes, inviting public interaction and exploration and meditation . The twenty-acre heaven is located at Said-Ul-Azaib village, close to the Mehrauli heritage area in New Delhi. The Garden was inaugurated in February 2003, it includes majestic rocks stand against the sky, tourists lie strewn upon the ground in a casual yet alluring display of nature’s sculptural genius. It was the ideal space to bring the concept of peace to life.

The Visual Garden is home to a variety of plants and flowers, all carefully arranged to create a visually pleasing experience. There are also several water features in the garden, which add to the visual appeal.

The Auditory Garden is designed to create a variety of sounds, from the gentle trickle of water to the chirping of birds. There are also several musical instruments in the garden, which visitors can play.
The Gustatory Garden is where visitors can taste a variety of fruits, vegetables, and spices. There is also a restaurant in the garden where visitors can enjoy a meal.
The Olfactory Garden is filled with fragrant flowers and plants. Visitors can walk through the garden and smell the different scents.
The Tactile Garden is where visitors can touch different textures, such as smooth rocks, rough bark, and soft grass. There are also several sculptures in the garden that visitors can feel.

There are also water fountains, pools, artworks and sculptures too in the garden. The garden is also a place for various cultural programmes. Plays and musical shows are part of the shows. There is an amphitheatre apart from the scenic spots. Towards the end of winter there is an annual flower show around February-March.

By Air: Nearest airport is Indhira Gandhi International Airport which is 16 km away cabs, bus and all are available from the airport to The Garden Five senses.
By Rail: Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, only 14 km away, is the closest to the Garden of Five Senses. Saket metro station is just 1 km away from The Garden of Five Senses, which is also an option to reach the garden.
By Road: The network of national highways connects Delhi to all the parts of the country. The Sarai Kale Khan Inter-State Bus Terminal is the nearest bus station to the garden. There are cabs and rickshaws also available to travellers.

Timings

The garden welcomes visitors from 9 AM and remains open all week. However, the closing time differs based on the month you visit. From April to September, the Garden of Five Senses shuts its gates at 7 PM. During the months of October to March, it closes slightly earlier, at 6 PM.
