Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji
Takht Sri Patna Sahib aka Harmandir Sahib is a sacred Gurdwara at Patna, The shrine marks the birthplace of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Globing Singh on December 1666. Harmandir Gali at Patna holds this holy place. This Gurudwara holds the prestige of being the holiest among the five Takhts, the seat of the Sikh authority. The now Harmandir was yesterday’s haveli of Salis Rai John, who was a great devotee of Guru Nanak. The sacred Gurudwara underwent many renovations over time. The place also holds some of the precious relics of the tenth Guru as a pangura (cradle) with four stands covered with Golden plates, which is said to be of his childhood, and four iron arrows, his sacred sword and a pair of sandals. Inside the shrine is a sanctorum representing the room where Guru Gobind Singh was born. Adjoining this room is a spacious high-ceilinged congregation hall. The pathway to the congregation hall is covered with gilded copper plates engraved with floral design complimenting the marble sculpture on the interior walls. The campus premises holds several blocks of rooms for staff and visitors and a Guru ka Langar.
