Sela pass lies on your way to Tawang city which is some 80 km from the pass and does make a great place to stop
and relax admiring the awesomeness of the surroundings. The Sela pass and the Sela lake situated at an altitude
of 4170 meters and welcomes you to Arunachal Pradesh with glory.
Best Time to Visit
Even though Sela Pass is open for whole year, the best time to visit are October, November, March, April and May
as there are minor chances of the route being blocked by snow. The temperatures can range from between
20 to 5 degrees , hence proper warm clothing is necessary. During these months, the Pass and the Lake are at their
most beautiful with snow covered mountains, forests and the frozen lake being a wonderful sight.
How to Reach
Air: Nearest airport is Guwahati, after that one can hire a car till Tawang. Helicopter services are available from
Guwahati till Tawang daily at the cost.
Bus: The nearest railhead is at Tezpur. It is well connected to Tawang and Bomdila by road.
Road: Tawang is well connected to major cities of the North-East by ASPRTC buses and some more private buses.
The most convenient way is by hiring a cab as you can stop at Sela Pass & Lake before carrying on to Tawang.
