Junagarh Fort
The Junagarh Fort aka Chintamani or Old Fort is the top attraction to be visited in Bikaner. The fort was thought to be built as a stone fort initially in the year 1478 by Rao Bika. But it was later given the present shape in 1589. The majestic fort sprawls over an area of 63119 square yards.
The fort is of historic and architectural importance. It is adorned with beautiful structures and exquisite carvings taken from numerous architectural styles. One can see the blend of numerous styles complimenting each other perfectly. The fort has been a choice of the visitors and tourists coming to Rajasthan since ages.
The fort attracts the architecture enthusiasts and the learners also because of its unique stone carvings done in red and gold sandstone. The interiors of the palace are worth admiring. The stunning carvings, temples, ponds, palaces, museum and gardens in the premised adds to the glory of the structure.
