Jain Temple Bhandasar
Bhandasar Jain Temple stands as one of the most beautiful and revered jain temple in the city of Bikaner. It is dedicated to the fifth Tirthankara, Sumatinath. The temple is thought to be constructed by Bhanda Shah Oswal, a wealthy merchant, in 15th century. It is said that the foundation of this temple was filled by pure ghee and dry coconuts.
The holy temple includes structure as antarala, garbagriha, mahamandapa and the ardhamandapa. The architecture of the temple is stunning and worth appreciating. The exterior as well the interiors are a treat to the eye, mind and soul. There are numerous paintings and artworks ornamenting this beautiful temple.
The temple is made of red sandstone and the holy statue of Sumatinath is made of pure silver.
