Jai Vilas Palace, Gwalior

The Jai Vilas Palace, aka Jai Vilas Mahal, was built by the Maharaja of Gwalior, Jayaji Rao Scindia in 1874. This palace covers about 75 acres of land and is truly a symbol of richness. The palace is popularly known for its 100ft high and 50ft. wide grand hall- The Darbar Hall, which houses the unique carvings, chandeliers, and tresses. The palace has a museum, an art gallery and also a giant library with around 5 thousand books.
