Dungeshwari Cave Temples
Dungeshwari Cave temples aka the Mahakala Caves, are the sacred religious destination for Hindus and Buddhists as well. It is believed that the cave temples are the place where Gautam Buddha served his penance, before proceeding to Bodhgaya, where he finally attained enlightenment. The series comprises of three main caves containing Hindu and Buddhist shrines. The Buddhist shrines are known by the name Sujata Sthan by the natives. One of the shine of the series contains a beautiful golden statue of Buddha, which is about 6 feet tall.
