Dooars
The Dooars or Duars that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin are the alluvial floodplains in northeastern India. This belt stretches over about 350 km and is nearly 30 km wide. The region starts from the Teesta River in West Bengal to the Dhansiri River in Assam. It is the gateway to Bhutan.
Dooars is a bouquet of cities like Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Siliguri, etc. This belt is adorned with mighty mountains, tea plantations, thick forests, a plethora of wildlife, a pleasant climate and smooth water bodies. This reign is truly a piece of Paradise.
