Bengal Safari

North Bengal Wild Animals Park aka Bengal Safari, Siliguri is a large animal park sprawling in an area of 297 hectares. The Park is famed for its exquisite safaris and the wide array of flora and fauna. Main safaris of the park being Mixed Herbivore Safari (91 ha), Tiger Safari (20 ha), Asiatic Black Bear Safari (20ha) & Zoo parts.

The place will definitely be a treat for nature and wildlife lovers. It offers a chance to the tourists to peep into the wild world.

Description of the Safaris-

Mixed Herbivore Safari – consisting of Spotted Deer, Kingfisher, Barking Deer, Sambar, Swamp Deer, Peacock, One Horned Rhinoceros, Red Jungle Fowl, Black Ibis, Emerald Dove, Drongo, Hog Deer, Hornbill and other birds in natural condition.

Total area covered- 91ha

Safari duration 20min.

Tiger Safari– consisting of  3 Tigers.

Total area covered- 20 ha

Safari duration 15 min.

Asiatic Black Bear Safari-  consists of 2 Asiatic Black Bear (Himalayan Black Bear)

The total area covered- 20 ha

Safari duration of 15 min.

Leopard Safari – consisting 4 Leopards(2 male, 2 female)

The total area covered- 20 ha

Safari duration of 15 min.

Aviary trail – consists of a foot trail. Must look for Red jungle Fowl, Peafowl, White Peafowl, varieties of Mixed flying birds, varieties of Exotic birds.

Lesser Cats trail – consists of a foot trail. Look for Jungle cat, Toddy cat, Fishing cat.

Gharial  & Crocodile Pond – consists of the mentioned amphibians.
