Asansol

Asansol stands as the second largest and most populated city of West Bengal, India. It is ranked as a Tier-II city. The city is famed for its steel and coal industries, railways, and its superb trade and commerce.

The city is also popular for holding the World’s largest vertically integrated organisation Chittaranjan Locomotive Works under Indian Railways. It is India’s first locomotive works and famed to be Asia’s largest Locomotive manufacturer.

 

The city also doesn’t lag behind in terms of sports facilities. The Polo Ground of Asansol has been a landmark for a long time. It has two badminton courts and an interchangeable volleyball court. Also, there is a stadium in Asansol, where football and cricket matches are played. Eastern Railway Divisional Stadium, aka Loco Ground, is another football and cricket stadium of the city. Also to mention are The Burnpur Football Stadium, Burnpur Cricket Club Ground and Kazi Nazrul Islam Krirangan.
