Doi Suthep
Doi Suthep stands as the most famed mountain in the region of Chiang Mai. This mountain peak holds great importance to the people of the region because of the religious centres it holds and the stunning view of the surrounding it offers.
The mountain peak is frequented by travelers visiting Thailand due to the immense beauty it encloses within itself. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is the most revered Theravada Buddhist temple in this peak. This temple holds great significance in the lives of the locals. This serves as a major pilgrimage site for the Buddhists and summons a huge crowd during the Buddhist holidays of Makha Bucha and Visakha Bucha (in months of February and May).
Doi Suthep is also frequented by nature and wildlife lovers, as this peak along with it neighboring areas makes a huge national park. The mountain is home to many wild species, vegetations, and water streams. Also to explore here are long caves, waterfalls, natural trails, valleys and much more.
Nevertheless, the peak is also adorned with a stunning palatial Bhubing Palace. The Palace served as a summer home for the Royal Family. This palace has even hosted many dignitaries in the past.
