Yala National Park
Yala National Park covers a vast forest, grassland and lagoons along the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. The park serves as a home to numerous leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species protected in their natural environment. SriLankan elephants are the most loved creatures here and tourists go crazy on sighting these mighty creatures here. The park offers the opportunity of camping and safari to the visitors.
Besides, there is an ancient Buddhist monastery Sithulpawwa. Also, one can visit nearby caves which contain centuries-old rock paintings. Other places to visit here id the Magul Maha Viharaya which also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Besides, it is also a pilgrimage.
