Unawatuna

Unawatuna sees itself as a famed beach town in southern Sri Lanka. Its waterbody holds a rich marine kingdom which is loved by the divers across the world. The amazing beaches, lined with the fringed palm trees and neighboured by the underwater creatures makes this place an ideal destination for the beach enthusiasts, water sports junkies and the leisure lovers. The most loved beaches here are the Unawatuna beach, Wijaya Beach, Jungle Beach that offers the tourists with ample options for funfilled activities.

The town also holds a Japanese Peace Pagoda having a stupa with oceanfront views. This makes an important religious centre to be visited here. Also, there is a Sea Turtle Farm and Hatchery to be visited. This farm aims in increasing the population of the endangered species of sea turtles. And thus they save them from the merge of extinction. The adult ones are then left in the sea to survive.
