Kandy

Kandy sees itself as a bustling city in central Sri Lanka. The city occupies a beautiful location to be appreciated. Kandy Lake aka Bogambara Lake makes a popular spot for strolling. Kandy also sees itself as a religious site. It holds numerous famous Buddhist temples. One such to mention is the Temple of the Tooth aka Sri Dalada Maligawa shrine. The temple of the tooth holds a real tooth of Lord Buddha.

The city is also famed for commencing the annual celebration of Kandy Esala Perahera festival in July/August. Kandy Esala festival makes a mark in the tourist’s calendars.
