Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa sees itself as a seaside resort town in southwestern Sri Lanka. The coastal town is famed for its lovely beaches and the strong surf that ornament these beaches. One can often see the tourists flocking leisurely on the beaches enjoying the view of the surfers struggling in the tides. Hikkaduwa Beach makes the most revered beach here.

Hikkaduwa National Park is near Hikkaduwa Beach. which is a coral sanctuary and home to marine turtles and exotic fish. The park makes an ideal destination to explore the lifecycle of these exotic marine species which is rare to find anywhere. This place is also adorned with the sacred Buddhist temple Gangarama Maha Vihara. The temple is beautiful and attracts the tourists because of its peaceful and divine environment and the hand-painted mural.
