Nagarkot
Nagarkot is a village in central Nepal, tucked at the rim of the famed Kathmandu Valley. The quiet village is mostly visited by the trekkers on their way to the Himalayas. The small village holds many hotels and restaurants for the tourists. One of the most loved activities here is sightseeing. Among the limited options of activities to be performed here, one is watching the sunrise and sunset amidst the mighty mountains of Himalayas. Other activities to be listed here are butterfly watching, visiting the ancient, pagoda-style Changunarayan Temple and interacting with the locals. Visiting the Nagarkot View tower and Paragliding must be included in the Nagarkot itinerary.
Nagarkot features a name because of the high spot for enjoying Himalayan views from the comfort of your building balcony. Just 32km from the national capital, the village is packed with hotels lining a ridge, affording one of the broadest possible views of the Himalaya, with eight ranges visible (Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Everest and Numbur). However, temporal order is everything, as the mountains are notorious for disappearing behind cloudy skies. The best viewing seasons ar Gregorian calendar month to Gregorian calendar month and March to April, once clear skies ar possible.
