Sagarmatha National Park

The Himalayas at the northeast of Nepal sees one of the protected areas named Sagarmatha National Park. The park is dominated by the highest peak in the world – Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha).  The park is adorned with beautiful glaciers, valleys, huge rocks, and trails. Apart from the Mt. Everest, there are much higher, snow-capped mountains dwelling in this area. The park now sees itself as the World Heritage Site.

The park is enriched with a wide variety of flora and fauna. To count here are over 118 species of birds that chirp around the park. Other dominating animals to mention are musk deer, the Himalayan tahr, the ghoral, the serow, the wolf, the Himalayan black bear,  marmots, pikas, martens, snow leopard, and red panda. One can also find the endangered species of the crimson-horned and the impeyan pheasants here. Attractive flora to mention here is silver fir, birch, rhododendron and juniper trees.
