Tyangboche
Tengboche is a village in the Khumbu subregion of Province No. 1 in Nepal. The scenic village is tucked 3,867 meters high. The village is famed for housing an important and sacred Buddhist monastery, Tengboche Monastery. This monastery at Tyangboche is considered to be the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. The structure was originally constructed in 1923, but a fire mishap burnt it down to see new construction in 1989. Apart from its religious im[ortance, the place is also a heaven for the trekkers. The peaceful environment, scenic beauty of the place makes the trial ideal for the trek. Also to witness here is the village’s prime festival- Mani Rimdu festival, which is celebrated by the Buddhist monks in the form of dance and drama.
