Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur aka Khwopa or Bhadgaon lies is an ancient Newa city in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. The city is listed under the UNESCO Heritage Sites of Nepal. Bhaktapur makes the one among the three major cities of the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur means the Place of devotees. The place is famed for its culture, tradition, and architecture. It once saw itself as a very powerful city under the rule of King Yakshya Malla.
The city is home to numerous artistically but temples, pagodas and the royal courtyards. People here are mostly indulged in the fine clay pottery making, vegetables, and staple selling. The most famed event of the place used to be Malla Yuddha (wrestling) which has now only remained as history and the city still celebrates the glory of this event by installing the statues of the wrestlers on the gates of the temples and pagodas.
