River Manimuthar
River Manimuthar, a major tributary of the River Tambaraparani originates from the eastern slopes of Western Ghats in Tirunelveli District of the state of Tamil Nadu.

The river begins in the dense forest on a mountain peak 1,300 metres above sea level in Ex-Singampatti Zamindari, Ambasamudram taluk and flows 9 kilometres through small cascade until it merges into Tambaraparani River near Kallidaikurichi.
The tributaries of the Manimuthar are the River Keezha and the River Varattar.
In 1957, Manimuthar anicut was built for the purpose of regulating the flow of a system of irrigation across the river 3 kilometres before its juncture with the Tamiraparani.
