Lake Town Clock Tower
The juncture between Lake Town and VIP Road holds a much talked about structures of Kolkata- The Clock Tower or “The Big Ben of Kolkata”.
This clock tower at Lake Town can be regarded as a replica of London’s Westminster. This clock tower has four giant clocks facing the cardinal directions.
This 135 feet tall “Kolkata Time Zone”, was built by the local municipal body at a cost of about Rs 1.36 crores. The clocks in the tower have a diameter of 12 feet each. One can have an encircling tour on the tower along the walkway constructed around the structure.
It is one of the iconic landmarks of the city of Kolkata.
