Machia Biological Park

Machia Biological Park was set up in the city of Jodhpur to create awareness among the people on the importance of conservation of flora and fauna for the benefit of the future generation. The park also aimed in the game pool conservation of the endangered species of wild animals of the region.

The park now not also works to conserve the natural biodiversity of the region but slid makes an important and revered tourist spot of the region. The park now attracts many nature enthusiasts and the biology buffs here.

The park has been working on the wildlife and the plant conservation since the year 1982-83. The huge park sprawls over 41 ha. of land, which falls under the 604 ha area of Machia Forest Block.

Machia Biological Park is famed to have 20 enclosures of wild animals predominant to the region. to innumerate are the- Three big cats namely Tiger, Lion and common Leopard; Three herbivores namely- Cheetal, Chinkara and Blackbuck; reptiles like- Crocodile, Gharial, Spiny-tailed Lizard, Monitor Lizard; Other mammals as- Jackal, Striped hyena, Indian Fox, Desert Fox, Jungle Cat, Desert Cat,Hedgehog, Porcupine, Sloth Bear and Indian Wolf.
