Lighthouse Beach Kovalam

The southernmost beach, the Lighthouse Beach Kovalam is the one most frequented by tourists and it is the larger of the beaches in that area The main attraction is 35 meter high light house which towers over it atop Kurumkal hillock. Light House Beach got its name due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located on a rocky promontory here. Its intermittent beams at night render the beach with an unearthly charm.

This beach is same as other beaches in Kovalam and has vast stretches of silver coloued sand and richness of greenish palm trees.

Light house beach is also a perfect location for various adventure sports at Kovalam beach. Swimming, surfing, parasailing and paragliding are the major attractions in Kovalam.

This beach is also one of the preferred honeymoon destinations in Kerala.
