Amravati
Amravati, believed to be the city of Lord Indra, the king of all gods, is a city in Maharashtra. It has a lot of temples and artificially built water reservoirs.
Ambadevi Temple, located in the heart of the city, is the place where Shri Krishna abducted Rukmini to marry her, according to the legend. Satidham Temple has splendidly designed idols of Lord Krishna and Radha, Lord Rama and Sita, Lord Shiva and Rani Satiji. An annual fair during Janmashtami attracts a huge population of devotees. Another beautiful temple is the Shri Bhakti Dham Temple wherein there is also a small park for children at its back.
Chatri Talao is a small reservoir on Kali Nadi built to supply drinking water to Amravati city. Garden and boating facilities are also available there. Wadali Talao along with a small garden and a zoo is also a preferable family getaway for the weekend. Apart from these two places, Amravati offers Melghat Tiger Reserve and the Wan Sanctuary for nature lovers.
In all, Amravati is a perfect blend of religious and nature-loving sentiments.
